In the southeast of Mallorca not far from Felanitx lies the idyllic fishing port of Porto Colom on a large bay, in whose well-protected location could develop the largest natural harbor in Mallorca.
It is rumored that in Portocolom, where about 3600 people live today, the navigator Christopher Columbus was born. With its beaches and bays, Porto Colom is an ideal vacation destination for sun-seekers and water sports enthusiasts. From here you can reach many exciting destinations in the east and south of Mallorca without long journeys.

The most popular beach in the area is S'Arenal. Here you lie sheltered from the wind on the sandy beach with a magnificent view of the beautiful natural harbor of Portocolom. By the way, the beach is also easily accessible for wheelchair users. At the upper end there is a bar with a terrace to sit comfortably.
If you continue along the road on the peninsula or walk, you will reach the lighthouse. Unfortunately, you can't enter the area directly because there is a big fence in front of it. Nevertheless, it is worth to look at the lighthouse from a distance.

Cala Marcal is the second bay from the fishing village. Turquoise water, great sandy beach, beach bar and sun beds. But much better, the view of the rocky coast. A beautiful place to enjoy and relax.

The promenade in the village offers many different options. A variety of restaurants allow the traditional Mallorcan cuisine to enjoy with a direct view of the sea and the monkeys.
