Location
Canyamel is a small resort on the east coast of the Balearic island of Mallorca. It is located six kilometers south of Cala Rajada and south of Cap Vermell. Administratively, it belongs to the municipality of Capdepera.
Canyamel is surrounded on both sides by wooded hills 200 to 300 meters high.
The Torrent de Canyamel flows through the middle of Canyamel and divides the village into the touristy southern half with hotels, pedestrian zone and the Torre de Canyamel, and the sophisticated northern half at Cap Vermell, where many villas, the golf course and the Coves d'Artà are located.
The fine sandy beach of the village, the Platja de Canyamel, is about 300 meters long and especially in the summer season well visited.
